January was a combination of fun + exciting + amazing + tiring + stressful + busy. I spent a lot of time with family, my best friends and Nico :) Intentionally spending time with the people I love. I'm thankful for all the January memories but it's time for February to steal the show ;) It's the 10th of February (Pacific time) so that means... the February Elle's Studio Kit is available for y'all!

As per usual, the Design Team Gallery's got you stocked with amazing layouts, cards and crafty goodness.
Since I got the kit way a week before February, I had to use it for some January layouts. I was kind of apprehensive at first because I thought, "this kit is going to pink, red, flowers and hearts," but boy was I wrong!
To end my January layouts (I divide my Project Life by months), I compiled photos from my January girls' night out with my best friends. Recently, we've been going out more since we're all almost done with university (three of us are working already) and have a little bit more time + freedom. I love these girls to death!
This would have been a great picture but of course, I was closing my eyes. #FAIL
Some of the journaling cards had that romantic / Valentine's touch but adding some (of my favorite) alpha stickers did the trick! I also love the huge space for writing since I want to be intentional about writing the actual story, not just some descriptive phrases.
This was probably my favorite card from the kit! I love how simple it was + colorful! It can definitely be used for any occasion / story. I stamped "first" from the Ali Edwards' Story Stamp and I actually scribbled something underneath but I didn't like how it turned out so I slapped on the perfect wood veneer from a Studio Calico kit. The card on the left, with the journaling, was a 4x6" card that I cut to fit the pocket. So versatile!
In our nine / ten years of friendship, we've never gone to a nightclub / bar together. It's just not our scene, y'know? We tried it for the first time at Valkyrie and although we'd prefer our slumber parties, it was still a fun night!
I'm not much of a pink person but I thought, for February, why not?
Same formula as last time! I used the February 3x4" card from the Elle's Studio Hello 2015 collection. I added some fun things from my stash + the paint chip die cut from the February kit.
I stamped this card from the February Kit with some lines so I can write the things that are memorable to me once February is over. I did a similar thing in my January divider ;)
Sometimes, I group photos together by theme, event or if it was a trip. It's especially magical when I don't group them according to any standard and then, taking a step back and looking at the layout, I see a theme going on. True Stories. That's what these photos + stories were all about.
Recently, social media (hello Instagram) and blogs are all about styled, beautiful mess. Oh you know, here's my lipstick, shoe and bag just randomly on the floor and I happen to take a photo of it (with perfect lighting, mind you). I admit, I love a good, styled photo. It's beautiful but oftentimes, it's not real.
I took this photo while I was re-doing a layout on the Papal Visit (there's a sneak peek for ya!). It was hella messy, I was on the floor, ink pads scattered all over the place, leftover blueberry cheesecake and basically, paper all around. But I thought, it was beautiful because I was getting things done. I was recording my photos and stories. So I literally stood up and took this photo, bad lighting and all. True story, right here.
Nothing fancy, just a photo of what I've been having for lunch in the past few days. Office life can be repetitive. I thought that if I scrapped monthly, based on events, I might miss out on the everyday, little things. But I still find myself sprinkling everyday photos here and there.
Water color urban skies, definitely a true story. I love looking at this sky whenever the sun's setting. I'm a sunset + dusk kind of girl ;)
I watched American Sniper and this was literally based on a true story. It was a great movie, I thought the way it was filmed was really cool. I'm not a movie critic / expert but I thoroughly enjoyed watching. A+ acting from Bradley Cooper, what's new?
The February Kit came with label cutouts in fun colors. I used the teal-ish one to match the entire layout and added the gastropub's name using my favorite alpha stickers, this time in a dark gray color!
This was a long post, yet again but I really love showing you guys how versatile the Elle's Studio monthly kits are. There's a lot more to the kits (I've barely scratched the surface) so you better check out the other layouts from the Design Team Gallery!
