As I post this, I'm slightly panicking because I haven't actually scrapbooked Week 13 yet. #OOPS I skipped over Week 13 because I don't have most of the photos for that week. It was my graduation week so most of the photos are in my mom's dSLR. So no, I am not slacking with my Project Life! I just actually finished Week 17 and have printed photos until Week 20.
I'm not quite sure when I'll be able to post the next Project Life update... with that, let's check out Week 12!
I no longer had classes in school this week so I was mostly at home or out with friends. And that led to a lot of eating, playing video games and my favorite - scrapbooking and other creative pursuits!
I chose to juxtapose pink against splashes of yellow for this layout. I think it turned out better than I expected ;)
I really, really wanted to use the deer badge from my Studio Calico Copper Mountain kit but I was pretty sure there won't be any event in the near future of my life that will involve a deer. So I just went ahead and used it on a tree trunk patterned card from the Midnight Edition core kit. Perfect, at least for me!
I bought a 36-piece set of Copic Sketch markers during my trip to Japan and I just love them! I haven't had the time to really practice illustration *by hand* recently so I use my Copics mostly for hand lettering.
I love that quote and that stuck to me for a long time. True success is a process, not just an end point.
One of my favorite techniques recently is to cut up a Project Life card and slip a part of the photo under it. You can see how it works with the Double Scoop quote card. The card was meant to be a filler card, I think, but I wanted to use it to accent the quote photo I had.
Oooohh I really love looking at the dreamy color blending on the RAD die cut from the Studio Calico Office Hours kit! I use the Color Theory Blush Crush ink pad and slightly pressed it down the die cut and then used a lighter shade of Copic marker to blend it all out.
The only time I had to go to school was for the graduation practice. And all the time, I was thinking, "This is it! Finally!"
That's everything for Week 12! I really like this layout, to be honest, despite how busy it looks. Right now, I'm transitioning a bit to a more minimalist layout but sometimes, I get overexcited and embellish the entire page! Oh well, at least everything's documented. That's the point, right?
I hope I can post Week 13 next week *fingers crossed* but I do have something good coming up soon! As always, if you do Project Life, link it into the comments section because I just love browsing through layouts!
