Time to get some serious workspace inspiration y'all! I'm back with a Createspace interview ;)
Last week, we took a peak at one of the Life Documented Manila girls' space. We're continuing the trend this week with Pinky of LDM! She's based here in the Philippines and I'm pretty sure I read in one of her blogs that she didn't have any "artsy" bone (something like that!) in her body but I beg to differ!
All the spreads she's shared about her many travels as well as everyday life has been enjoyable for me ;) Now, we get to see where all the magic happens!
Hi, I'm Pinky. I'm 1/3 of Life Documented Manila, a scrapbooking company whose mission is to introduce Project Life to the Philippines and to build a local community of memorykeepers. In my very limited free time I work on my personal scrapbooks.
My createspace is my crafts room. There is a tiny ante-room leading to my bedroom from the living room, and it's had several uses over the years- a bedroom, a bodega, a study. In one corner I put up alternative Disney posters that I bought from a tiny art shop in Vietnam, and I've organized most (but not all) clutter into pretty white IKEA boxes that fit well on the bookshelves. I belong to a family of IKEA addicts.
What is your favorite area in your space? Why that area?
My favorite area is my table - it's placed in a little nook in the room surrounded by book shelves (too narrow and low for my scrapbooks, so those stick out). It's very cozy -- kind of cave-like, actually -- and I spent almost all my free time at home here. I've set it up so that everything I need is in easy reach, and I have a lot of inspirational things posted on my walls and in frames.
If you could only have five things in your space, what would those be?
- My Raskog from IKEA: it holds almost all my scrapbook materials (cards, pens, stamps, tools) except for embellishments and washi
- TV and laptop: the TV acts as a second monitor for my laptop. I usually watch a series while working with my hands, printing photos (which is why I need to watch elsewhere).
- Notebooks: I keep a personal diary and a gratitude journal. The first helps me sort out my angst (haha) and the second helps me be mindful about the good things in my life. They also help me keep track of what I want to put in my Project Life.
- Pilot Frixion pen: I am obsessed with this pen. So much fun knowing if I mess up, I can just erase and start again.
- Kokuyo dot roller: I will never use gluesticks again.
Neat or messy? MESSY. My space is so messy. I'm the type where, if I start to clean, I have to clean the whole room, and I just don't have time for that right now. So messy it stays.
Sunlight or moonlight? ... artificial light? Huhu my room-cave doesn't have windows that face the outside, so I have to get by with lights we put up at the top bookshelves. If I could punch through the roof to give myself a skylight, I totally would though.
Pen & paper or digital? Pen and paper, definitely. There's something therapeutic about doing it all by hand.
Coffee, tea or neither? Water. I rarely have coffee, and I'm still trying to train myself to drink more water.
With or without music? With background TV.
Make you own rapper name using scrapbooking tools/items.
I think "Tiny Attacher" is good enough as is. :P
Lastly, what are you creating now?
Not much time for creating lately as we've been working on our digital shop and the back-end of our website and other fun things in the pipeline that I can't talk about yet. Hopefully I can cross these things on my list and get back to creating soon!
