For our first Createspaces feature, I invited an artist based in my country, Philippines. I've met her a few times before and I was always amazed at her work, her professionalism and her Instagram feed. (She takes amazing photos!)
Her space, to me, is really cozy! I love how she repurposed an unused room in her home into something completely her. Let me welcome you to Abbey Sy's createspace!
Hi, I'm Abbey. I'm a hand letterer, moment collector and lifestyle blogger. My creative work focuses on visual art and photography.
My createspace is my attic, aka my "mini studio". It's an unused space in our house so I decided to make it my workspace instead of just working from my bedroom.
What is your favorite part in your createspace?
Probably the desk that faces the window. I use it not just for lettering work but also for mini shoots and other things, so it's pretty versatile. Plus points also 'cause the sunlight is pretty strong here, which makes it conducive for working during early mornings.
If you could only have five things in your space, what would it be?
Hmm, pen, sketch pad, notebook, iPad, and a book.
Neat or messy? Messy! My desk is NEVER neat for some reason, but I still end up working efficiently.
Sunlight or moonlight? Torn between both! But usually my productivity is more alive in daylight except I'm easily distracted.
Pen & paper or digital? Pen & paper! Digital is just not my thing.
Coffee, tea or neither? Coffee for productivity. Always. Although I like tea, too, mostly at night.
With or without music? With music! Spotify is always on or I always have a work playlist on shuffle. I can't stand silence.
If you could only have one color in your space (all your stuff + entire room is in one color), what would it be?
Lastly, what are you creating now?
Drafting on a wedding logo, working on a manifesto for an upcoming planner, and planning creative outputs for my month long trip!
